Primark top / H&M jeans / Mossimo heels / Urban Behaviour bag / MAC's Renlentlessly Red lipstick

I bought this top last fall on our last trip to London. Through some recent major closet reorganization, I’ve newly rediscovered it. And what perfect timing since spring is actually kind of here (read: kind of – still kind of chilly in Toronto).  I am very particular when it comes to floral pieces. They can so easily border on girly and juvenile. So it’s all about the pairing for me with this outfit because I do really love this top. I wore it with dark blue jeans and black strappy sandals to balance the softness with a little bit of edge.  Femininity doesn't have to be girly.

Dollhouse leather jacket / Spence top / H&M jeans / Qupid shoes / Bag from local shop

A very minimalist outfit for today's post. Sometimes it's just necessary to bring out those very basic, no-fuss items for a casual yet polished look. For me, this consists of a trusty leather jacket, an insanely comfortable white top, a good fitting pair of jeans and some classic heels. I kept the jewellery to a minimum and added a red lip to brighten it up. Overall, a very basic look with some key elements. Happy Friday!

Brass Elephant - St Lawrence Market / Hand - Winners / Bulls Head - Home Sense
Frame - Kate Spade / Lamp - Ikea / Vase - Ikea / Bedding - mostly from Target

Here is a glimpse into our bedroom. Living downtown Toronto means space is (very) limited - we had to sacrifice a whole lot of it to be in the location we wanted. This means I am consistently faced with the challenge of how to give things a dual purpose. I started showcasing my favourite pieces on my brass vintage elephant (which I painted white) and from then, I've just been building this system. Instead of getting more jewellery designated storage, I display what is heavily on rotation on different decorative items around the bedroom. With the grey, yellow and white colour palette, the silvers and the golds just blend in perfectly. I must admit, there is a touch of laziness to this process; I can just take off the day's jewellery and throw them on either the hand, the elephant, the bull's head or pretty much anything else. But lazy can still be pretty, right..?

Butterfly TC necklace / Dynamite dress / Aldo heels/ H&M clutch

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter and a great long weekend. I'm wearing another Butterfly TC piece here. This necklace is so bold and makes such a statement that it would perfectly dress up jeans and a tee or simply pair beautifully with something a little more dressed up. I love all shades of yellow, so I couldn' t resist doing the matchy-matchy thing here with this printed number. And yellow just cheers me up! This dress is one of my latest purchases and I am in love. I am always hesitant to go for form fitting dresses (probably like a lot of ladies out there) because it literally can put it all out there. To my surprise, I was actually comfortable in this one. There is so much happening with the print that the imperfections are sort of hidden in the background. Form fitting is are far easier for me to wear when there is a distraction present; I'm not feeling self-conscious nor tugging and pulling constantly. What are your guidelines for bodycon dresses?

Two of my friends, twin sisters Melanie and Melissa along with older sister Dion, have started their own jewellery line in, The Butterfly Treasure Chest. powder blue

Old Navy button down / H&M jeans and bag / Aldo shoes

To say I'm a bit obsessed with powder blue right now would be a great understatement. I already have a thing for certain shades of blue. Cobalt blue is my absolute favourite colour and it makes a statement so effortlessly. Navy is an easy go-to; it's simply classic and timeless. Powder blue is that perfect pastel that is soft and feminine without feeling overly girlie. In this outfit, I found the blues neutral enough to add a vibrant pop with the shoes. I will likely be pairing it with white, grey and black to either add colour to a lighter palette or to bring a soft edge to an all black outfit.

Zara top / H&M tube dress worn as skirt, belt, bracelets and bag / Forever 21 necklace / Aldo shoes

This metal gold plated belt has become one of those quick fixes for quite a few outfit for me. You know when you have that great blazer, those great jeans or even that great little clutch purse you can add on to bring your outfit to that next level? Well I've been reaching for this belt as of late. So far I've paired it with jackets and structured looks, but I'm interested to see how it will pair with flowy lightweight pieces.
