This is definitely turning out to be a severe black kick. Black is just doing it for me right now!

Happy Monday! I love the light layering that's required around this time. So here's some fall jacket inspiration.

H&M blazer, dress and bag / Primark boots

This past weekend, Ben and I got to enjoy some of the Toronto International Film Festival aka TIFF events. Here's what I wore to one of them. I pulled a classic 'Aaaahhh I have nothing to wear' about 20 minutes before we had to leave. I decided on this dress because it has been a summer staple for me - I even have it in blue! I paired it with a black blazer and black boots because well, I'm just loving black lately. I have so much love for blazers and I can't wait to have them on a steady rotation for work once we officially hit fall. I'm very much a jeans and t-shirt gal on most days, so well fitting blazer is the perfect piece to pull it together. What items are you most excited to bring out for fall?

all black everything

Primark jacket and shoes / Gojane dress / H&M bag
I’ve been on a heavy neutrals only kick lately. It could very well be because we’re in the last few days of summer here in Toronto. The mornings are chilly and the evenings are on the cooler side. Fall is definitely in the air, so naturally, I’m slowly moving off of the bold and bright pieces and into neutral territory. I love an all black outfit, especially a dressed up one. It’s so chic without looking like you’re really trying. All black has an element of edge and I love that. I’ve been wearing this t-shirt dress with my converse a lot lately, so I wanted to switch it up a little and add some heels and a leather jacket for a classic look. All black everything!

protein oatmeal berry bowl

14.9.15

I've been addicted to overnight protein oatmeal bowls lately. If you’re like me and pretty much don’t have to worry about breakfast on weekdays, then these are lifesaver. Most of the work is done the night before and then the garnishing in the morning. First, you’ll need 1/3 cup of  oatmeal, 1/3 cup of milk, 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, 1/2s scoop of protein powder and 1 table spoon of chia seeds. For the oats, you can literally use whatever oats you want. I used steel cut oats. Same goes for the milk. Sometimes I use regular milk, Almond milk or soy milk. So you mix all of these ingredients in a bowl with a lid and put them in the fridge overnight (it really needs about 3-4 hours to be ready to eat!). In the morning, you can all the extras you want. Here I garnished with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, sprinkled some more chia seeds along with flax seeds and a dash of cinnamon. Easy healthy breakfast!

I love pencil skirts and I love neutrals. Best of both worlds in this look!

fall for dark lips

7.9.15

All photos via Pinterest

My favourite season is just around the corner and that could only mean one thing - it's time for dark lipsticks!! I absolutely love a dark lip. Don't get me wrong, I love the bright reds and hot pinks. I just happen to love deep reds, dark purples and rich maroons about ten times more. Many, many times over this past summer, I asked myself; 'would it be weird if I did a dark lip instead?'. Unfortunately, vampy lips just aren't super summer appropriate. I discovered Mac's Sin (the first in the Mac lipstick pic) late last year and I cant wait to get back at it. what are some of your favourite dark lipsticks?
