knits and plaids

Happy Monday! I got this coat last year and I'm still super in love with it this year. I don't think the plaid trend is going anywhere. Just like skinny jeans and and block heels, I'm pretty sure this is going to be a staple in our closets. The thing with trends is that it doesn't really matter if something comes and goes, if it fits well and is tailored to your body, it will always be in style. So my biggest advice while shopping right now - because let's face, it, we all shop for ourselves too while we're out doing the Christmas shopping; the sales are just too good - is to focus on fit. So you can still gravitate towards the trends like florals and plaid, but remember that it will only go the distance if it fits well. Proper fit equals chic. And chic is always in!

I've always loved the look of a pretty coat or blazer caped over the shoulders. It looks so luxurious. So while I walked down the street with this coat properly on, I wanted to be a little extra while posing for these photos. I felt quite fabulous, I must admit! I wore this chunky turtleneck knit under with some raw hem jeans and white booties. I wore this sweater on my Instagram stories recently and got so many questions about it.
