my bridal diaries: engagement party dress

15.5.14

Suzy Shier dress / Aldo heels / Stella and Dot earrings / H&M bracelets

Our engagement party was back in February during a wild snow storm, but since it's finally warm outside, I decided to put the look together exactly as I wore it for the blog. I'm a notorious procrastinator when it comes to planning an outfit ahead of time for an event... and every day, really. I mean I wake up for work every day having no idea what I'm going to wear. So for our engagement party, it was no different. I literally started looking for a dress about two days before the party. I wanted something relatively simple and white. So on the second day of endless hunting and in and out of fitting rooms, I found this little number on a sales rack at a store I don’t frequent much (love when that happens). $40 on an engagement party dress... not bad in my book.

loose fits

12.5.14

Old Navy tee / Primark jeans / ASOS bag / Target heels

Happy Monday! Sometimes I just really don't want anything clinging to my body (you know... those days when pig out... or are planing to). These days call for loose fitting T-shirts and oversized baggy pants. A touch of pink and a bit of lipstick keep it a few steps from looking completely 'OMG, she let herself go" with all the comfort of the 'OMG she let herself go' look. It's a win-win in my opinion.

spring neutrals

1.5.14

Kenar jacket / H&M tank and jeans / Forever 21 sandals / Urban Behavior bag

One of my favourite things about spring style is wearing light colours from head to toe. Light neutrals feel so fresh. I think this jacket is a fresh take on the two-tone black and military green utility jacket (which I still am in love with!) from the fall. The beige and white colour combination and the sleeve detail is the epitome of a spring jacket and makes for an easy and simple spring outfit.
