Happy Friday! One week, two posts! Who am I!? Just a girl trying to get back on track with her passions. Let's talk about fashion uniforms. Is it okay to have one? I feel like there's such a bad connotation to having a go-to look that you know works for you. Maybe it stems from kids who wore uniforms to school... I mean who wore a uniform and didn't complain about it every once in a while. I complained about it probably on a weekly basis. I looked forward to those free days when you got to wear your own clothes. We all did! I wanted to show everyone 'look guys, I have a sense of style!' It's that one day where you didn't blend in.

Fast forward 13 years, and my views on uniforms have changed completely; I'm actually a fan! Now don't get me wrong, I don't think we need to be wearing the same thing over and over again. Nor do I think we should all look the same or be dressed the same. However, there is something to be said about knowing what works and sticking to it. As a kid, I probably never admitted this, but wearing a uniform also had it's upside. I never had to worry about making an outfit and wondering if this goes with that and all those little stresses. Once you got your uniform tailored, it just always looked the way it looked.

In my everyday life, I think I wear high waisted jeans and a t-shirt or sweater with flats or sneakers five out of seven days a week. I'm running after a toddler for most of my day. I could wear sweatpants. I  could wear leggings. But I don't. Those are just not my style. I like a good fitting high waist pair of denim. Skinny jeans, mom jeans, boyfriend jeans, girlfriend jeans, straight leg, boot cut, whatever the cut. As long as their high waisted, fit the booty and I can bend over or breakout in a run at any given moment, I'm good to go.

Do you feel my love for a good pair of denim? That's why when I have to dress up, I still want to reach for them. This is when I have to swap the tee for a pretty blouse, some dainty necklaces and a pretty lace peek-a-boo bra. Throw in a pretty pump and a bag to boot and I'm in my happy place! I also just love the combination of jeans and a pointed toe shoe. So the moral of the story is, It's okay to have a uniform. I look at it kind of like a comfort food recipe; it's always good, but sometimes you want it extra spicy to kick it up a notch. You with me?
