black jumpsuit

21.9.16

I got this jumpsuit when I was 8-9 weeks pregnant. I loved it before I was showing, but I especially love it now. I think it looks so cute and funny with the big ol' bump poking through. I love neutral colours, but I've been drawn to way more black during this pregnancy. I guess that's a little self conscious thing I've been doing. One obvious reason is the whole black is slimming thing. Even though I've haven't really gained much weight beyond my belly, I still feel bigger, especially in the chest area. I've always had bigger boobs and I've never been one to bring attention in their way. Also, black is always so clean and simple. So I apologize in advance for the black overload throughout this whole process. On another note, I'm 27 weeks now! Entering the last trimester! Feeling so nervous and excited!

26 weeks pregnant now! I wanted to share a little about this journey.  My husband and I are over the moon about Baby Yellowlee's arrival in December. He's been wanting a baby for a solid 4-5 years now. I was the one kind of like 'omg, way too young to be a mom!'. And then something changed. I just got crazy baby fever. So here I am!

Here's how I found out I was pregnant. I was shopping with my girlfriends, and my boobs just started aching. Like aching. I was thinking oh no, it's my period. But then I felt them and it was just a little more painful than usual. So then I became hopeful that maybe I was pregnant. Still I wanted to wait until the first day my period was due. So that morning, I peed on a stick and there it was!

My first real symptom was my sore boobs. Pretty much within the next week, I was falling asleep at any time, all the time. On the couch, on the subway, at work - literally anywhere. I'm not a napper, so often times I'd wake up to my husband just staring at me in disbelief that I'd passed out within 30 seconds of being in conversation with him.

So those two things was really as bad as it got for me. I never experienced nausea or vomiting. I'm so thankful for that. I know that's not everyone's experience. I was able to still workout (light weight lifting and going easy in spin class). I kept a balanced diet of healthy food and the occasional junk meal. I gained three pounds in the first trimester. I'm not too concerned about weight, but I really don't want to be left with 50 pounds to lose after baby. At the end of the day, a healthy pregnancy and baby is definitely the number one priority though! I'd love to hear about your experiences!

Hi lovelies. I was 25 weeks when we took these outfit photos (I'm now 26 weeks). I've been living in fitted dresses and sneakers outside of work because it's just so easy and comfortable. We were in Chicago last week for a short trip before the baby comes. All five days I basically wore a version of this uniform with sneakers by day, heels by night. Super simple!

PS: I'll be posting a pregnancy update later this week!

two year wedding anniversary

Happy Labor Day Long Weekend! I got married on this weekend 2 years ago, August 31st, 2014. I realized I've never shared my wedding pictures on the blog and that's insane! So here are a few of my favorites. We had 120 guest, all close, close friends and family. About 85% of the guests were from out of town (and out of the country). We had our ceremony downtown Toronto at small chapel that literally only fit 120 people. We were married by my father since he's a bishop. Our reception was at 2nd Floor Events, also downtown. It was honestly just such a perfect day. No disasters or almost disasters. The day was filled with so much love and happiness. We all cried, laughed, got a little tipsy and danced from 8 till 3 in the morning. What else could a girl want?!

PS: My husband is a hardcore Manchester United fan. As a kid, he used to go to games every week. So of course, Man U had to be a part of the day. The guys even wore Man U pins on their suits.

PPS: I fell in love with two dresses and couldn't let one go. So yes, I wore 2 dresses.

PPPS: I've included a few favourites from the guests phone as well!
